Hon Ebong stressed the importance of having Apac NRM Voluntary Taskforce Team (AVOLTAST) to campaign for H.E President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the 2011 Presidential elections. He explained that the feedback from the public and careful analysis of the forces at play in the politics in Apac district and Lango Region, additional support is highly needed to compliment the mobilization by the leaders at the NRM district office of Apac if success is to be guaranteed. Hon. David Ebong noted that the key goal that all members of the movement should aim at achieving is success in the forth coming election. He however stated that there are many young vibrant members of NRM that can be adequately, efficiently and successfully used to add vigour and acceptability of the NRM party in Apac district. The idea is to add value to the campaign process and bridge some gaps that has been identified by the public. It is believed that inadequate mobilization, limited customer care and insensitive marketing of the NRM Party by almost the same actors for the last 15 years has some effect on the bad performance of the Party in Apac district and Lango Region. He said that culturally in Lango, if your children keep on dying, you perform “Akwera” a ritual that addresses weaknesses and provides alternatives to success. There had been a lot of segregation due to poor leadership, and very few members have been clinking NRM office discouraging many other who have the capacity to campaign and come out with better results for H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. So the main intension of having this “Apac NRM Voluntary Taskforce Team” is to enhance team spirit and provide additional force that can campaign jointly targeting the same goal. Hon. David Ebong advised the members present to discuss and come out with solutions that will make NRM succeed in the 2011 polls. He thanked members for turning up at short notice saying that he is overwhelmed to see up to 150 people turn up for the meeting. He then gave chance to the Chairperson NRM-Apac Town Council to give his remarks.

MIN II CHAIRMAN NRM-APAC TOWN COUNCIL

Mr. Lujino Odongo Bangala, Chairman NRM Apac Town Council stated that the people of Apac district are backing President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni but most NRM supporters are not happy with the district NRM structures and how they conduct business. Odongo cited greed, selfishness, insensitivity to NRM party needs as common at the ranks of the district party structure. The chairperson gave a proverb that “a pussy cat can not suck milk from a cow because the cow can not accept, for fear of the cats fangs.” He said most of the NRM district leaders do not allow new members to share good ideas on the party development in the district. The Chairperson Apac Sub County said that many more people are willing to join “NRM Voluntary Taskforce Team” for Apac district. He however cited out the challenge of transport and facilitation for the campaign and mobilization.

MIN III REACTIONS

Mr. Odongo Moses, representative of the disabled person for Akokoro Sub County, told members that Hon. David Ebong Abongo has many supporters and will be able to attract many people to the party. Odongo advised that Hon. Ebong is result oriented, polite, accommodative and acceptable by people from other parties, cooperative and has a long vision for the people and the party. Odongo Moses the representative of the disabled person was very concerned that the pioneers of NRM at Apac district levels are the ones portraying bad image of the party. He described them as rigid people who take NRM as personal properties to pursue personal interests! Participants cited wrong doings by the NRM party leaders of Apac district as:
